Matteo Mosquetti scored the third of the year at the Rhodes Grand Prix

Matteo Mosquetti returned to lead the Continental Polartec-Kometa in his third victory of the year, at the Grand Prix of Rhodes (Greece), an island where the team will remain until the weekend to ride the Tour of the same name.

The race did not start well for Polartec-Kometa, as it had to start with only 6 riders, due to a problem with the visa of Eritrean Awet Habtom, which will try to meet his teammates in the coming days. Despite that handicap, the team came out with the mentality of taking their fast men, Mosquetti and Gazzoli, to the end, to try to fight for a victory in which appeared as favorites the Bardiani men. It was not easy, since at 12 kilometers to go Mosquetti suffered a puncture, but was very fast in the repair and managed to rejoin the group without losing options.

Worse part took his teammate Michele Gazzoli, who suffered a blow with a car badly parked in the last kilometer, which ended his chances, although he suffered no serious injuries and may take the start on Friday in the Tour of Rhodes.

Mosquetti once again demonstrated his excellent moment of form and mentality, as he seems to have found the confidence he was looking for at his speed point. With this victory is ratified as one of the favorites for at least the third and final stage of the Tour of Rhodes, the most auspicious of the three for the sprinters.
