Lorenzo Fortunato
Biography
The rider from Castel de Britti, a small town very close to Bologna of which the great skier Alberto Tomba is also a natural, is a complete cyclist, a growing long-distance runner, who has been able to continue to progress in the structure of the Vini Zabu over the last two seasons. After a few early years linked to the world of football, where he played as a forward, he eventually began to practice cycling. At home his father is a great fan of this sport, as well as being a cycling enthusiast, and this was something that helped to develop this passion. With good results in the junior categories, Fortunato ended up defending the Azzurri in the junior category in both the World Cup and European Championships. In 2016, at the age of 20, he had the opportunity to ride as a stagiaire with the Tinkoff of the World Tour, a team that allowed him to compete in the Tour du Limousin, the Tour des Fjors (where he finished fourteenth), the Tre Valli Varesine, the Milan-Torino and the Giro del Piemonte. A year later, one month after suffering a scare without serious consequences with a vehicle in the descent of the Passo di Foscagno, he was able to repeat the experience, this time with a Bardiani-CSF with which he will participate in the Tour of Denmark. In 2019 he graduated in Physical Education.
