Biography

Based on the Isle of Man, this veteran cyclist who turned 30 on the same day that his signing up for the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team project became official, has a vast sporting experience in the continental category that has even allowed him to compete in Monuments and in three-week races. His origins, however, are to be found in the velodromes. Christian was a member of the Olympic Development Programme and, both as a junior and U23 rider, achieved great results on a track where he has taken part in World Cup events or the Commonwealth Games. He has teamed up with Peter Kennaugh, Luke Rowe and Simon Yates to win national titles in Madison. Christian has put on interesting performances in week-long tours such as the Tour of Yorkshire or the Tour of Austria. In the Austrian event, and in an extremely demanding ascent such as the Kitzbüheler Horn (eight of its total 10 kilometres were climbed, an average climb of 12% which, when fully tackled, remains close to 2,000 metres above sea level), he displayed his good climbing skills. He is the brother of Anna Elisabeth Christian, also a professional cyclist.
