Vincenzo Albanese
Biography
A native of Campania, Vincenzo Albanese lives in Tuscany, near Florence. Despite his 24 years, Albanese has already completed four seasons as a professional cyclist where he has been able to compete both in the Giro d’Italia and in other World Tour category events. “I’m very motivated for this 2021 and I hope it will be a season full of success both for me and for the whole team”, he says. Vincenzo started cycling when he was seven years old and throughout the different categories he was always accumulating successes. “When I was in the U23 category I realised that what was fun could also become a job,” he recalls. Albanese finished fifth at the 2017 U23 World Championships in Bergen. A year earlier, competing with a team from the Italian national team, he won the prestigious Matteoti Trophy. Vincenzo is a very reserved person, somewhat shy, who likes to spend time with his family, his partner and his cat. He loves nature and one of his hobbies is taking photos and videos of scenic settings. About his skills as a rider, he says: “I consider myself a very fast cyclist, but I am also able to hold my own on not very long climbs”.
