A double Cantabrian commitment to resume competitive activity

24 de abril: XXX Memorial Chele Campos
25 de abril: Gran Premio El Baruco

The Cantabrian roads will host this weekend two races in which the youth structure of the Contador Foundation returns to competition after it could not be concreted, as planned, the presence in the Gipuzkoa Klasika a week ago. The organisation of the Basque race postponed the race to a date still to be specified and the return of the bibs was postponed for a week, although some riders, when health measures have allowed it, have taken part in various races in their immediate geographical area and in their regional calendars.

The Catalan Joel Díaz, the Valencian Pablo García, the Soria-born Antonio González, the Riojan Lucas Guillermo, the Balearic Marc Terrasa, the Madrid-born Miguel Ramos and the Cantabrians David Gimeno and David Puente make up the team that will take part both on Saturday 24 April, in the afternoon, in the Memorial Chele Campos and on the morning of Sunday 25 in the Gran Premio El Baruco. Two events with routes in which the slopes of the Alto de El Churi will be decisive for the outcome of the race.

The Memorial Chele Campos, an event celebrating its 30th edition, will be held over a 87.4 kilometre route starting and finishing in Cacicedo de Camargo and El Churi will be crowned with just over ten kilometres to go. The Gran Premio El Baruco de Igollo de Camargo, meanwhile, has a course of 90.6 kilometres and the summit of El Churi is nine kilometres from the finish.
