A tour for climbers in France

Tour de l’Ain (2.1) – 9th to 11th August
Stage 1: Châtillon-Sur-Chalaronne – Val-Revermont (151km)
Stage 2: Saint-Vulbas – Lagnieu (143km)
Stage 3: Plateau d’Hauteville – Lélex (129km)

EOLO Kometa returns to France for three days. Very close to Italy, with the queen stage going into the Alps. The Tour de l’Ain becomes the next challenge with the riders improving day by day and already feeling the preparation work they have done during the last month.

A sprint finish will open the competition, while the hilly terrain of the second day could be good for breakaways and also for the favourites to start selecting the race. The main attraction comes on Thursday with five climbs and more than 3,000 metres of elevation. A high mountain stage that will decide the general classification of this competition.

Alessandro Fancellu comments on the team’s ambitions and attitude towards the Tour de l’Ain: “I feel good, I did a good job in the high ground and I am happy to be back racing. Exactly like in Burgos the level is very high so it will not be easy, but I hope to be competitive in the last two stages which are the hardest ones”.
