Agate Grey, the new colour of the AURUM Magma

Always improving, always progressing, but at the same time maintaining the essence. The AURUM Magma bike introduces a new colour option, Agate Grey, inspired by the volcanic rocks of Teide. A wonderful place where the brand was born, a perfect choice for the minimalist and sophisticated design of the Magma frame.

The EOLO KOMETA will premiere the AURUM Magma Agate Grey on the legs of Diego Pablo Sevilla this Saturday during the Milan San Remo. We are talking about the first cycling Monument of the season, with the repercussion, attention and importance of this race in the international calendar. After the presentation of the AURUM bike in September 2020, with the Glacial Blue and Carbon Black colours, it has been the official bike of the team and has achieved great successes such as Lorenzo Fortunato’s victory at the top of the Zoncolan in the Giro 2021. The Dolomite’22 Pink and Green collection, inspired by the sunset in the Italian mountains, marked a new breakthrough and now the Agate Grey leaves no one indifferent, even in the professional peloton.

The name of the new colour, Agate Grey, has its origin in the heart of the volcanic rocks that formed the Teide, in the Canary Islands (Spain). When the magma cools, it forms rocks with layers of micro-crystals that give rise to agate stone, with shades of grey. The significance that Teide has for Alberto Contador and Iván Basso, and the link with this volcano in Tenerife, also explains the origin of AURUM. Its debut in a race like the Milan San Remo, as it will be the bike used by Diego Pablo Sevilla, is also charged with emotion for the EOLO KOMETA.

“At AURUM, we believe that style is as important as performance,” the brand explains. With its epicentre in Pinto, each of the bicycles that are then put on the market are hand-made and hand-painted. “We have turned the Magma model into a style statement with its clean and elegant design. It’s not just a high-performance machine: it’s a symbol of sleek and sophisticated aesthetics, the perfect combination of style and high performance”.

“We are proud to bring this stylish new colour to our wide range of possibilities,” explains Alberto Contador, co-founder of AURUM. “Magma is not just a bike; it’s a style statement, and the new Agate Grey colour adds another layer of sophistication to its already stunning design. We believe that style is just as important as performance, and with Magma, it’s possible to have both together”.

Debuting the AURUM Magma bike in the Agate Grey colours will be Diego Pablo Sevilla, who admits “I’m looking forward to doing my best on it. I hope to show the bike in a race as spectacular and important as the Milan San Remo, a Monument no less. To show it off in the best way. I am very happy to be able to wear these colours for the first time and it is an honour that EOLO KOMETA has trusted me for something so special”.
