Another rider of the U23 structure that jumps to the professional field: Fernando Tercero will reinforce the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team from next season. The rider from Valdepeñas joins Javi Serrano and Andrea Pietrobon and becomes the seventeenth rider who jumps from the U23 to the professional team, either in continental category or in ProTeam category.

Tercero has been one of the most outstanding riders of the continental amateur scene, a great climber capable of good time trials who this season has added to his list of victories the overall of the Memorial Sanroma and the Volta a Galicia and a victory in the Aiztondo Klasika, which counts for the Spanish Cup. He finished third on the podium in both the Vuelta al Bidasoa and the Vuelta a Salamanca, and eighth in the final classification of the Giro U23.

Rafa Díaz Justo, sports director: “Fernando was born in the project, he has been with us since the youth team. He showed a great evolution in his second year under 23 and this season was his opportunity. We set very clear objectives and he achieved them, he has the mentality of a winner and has been in form all year. He had a special moment in Bidasoa and the Giro, where he confirmed his skills. He is a pure climber, who can defend himself in time trials, very regular and who is going to give a lot of joy to this project. His jump to the professional ranks is already consolidated and Fernando’s future is spectacular”.
