First race of the week in Slovakia

Tour de Slovaquie (2.2)
13 a 17 de septiembre
Prólogo: Petrzalka-Petrzalka
Etapa 1: Samorín-Trnava
Etapa 2: Hlohovec-Banská Stiavnica
Etapa 3: Detva-Spisská Nová Ves
Etapa 4: Levoca-Kosice

In a week where the team is divided and will also face several classics in Italy, the Tour of Slovaquie becomes an interesting opportunity to continue adding great results and continue the positive streak of the last competitions, in this case with the presence of Lorenzo Fortunato.

Four stages with an initial 7-kilometre prologue shape this Slovakian race, which will have a clear opportunity for the sprint on the first day on the route but will opt for the mountains in the rest of the stages. A total of seven climbs and more than 185 kilometres of route make the second part of the stage a key day, with three first category climbs. The marathon third stage, with 210 kilometres and seven climbs, will decide the race. With the hardness concentrated in the initial part, the last day will once again allow for a sprint finish.

Jesús Hernández: “Lorenzo Fortunato is always a great option for the overall classification. The route is not super hard and hilly, although there are two selective days that will decide the overall. It will be a fight for the stage and the overall. There are two other days that are more favourable to sprinting and that’s why we’re taking Lonardi along with a whole block of very versatile riders. It’s a combative bunch that will surely allow us to show what we can do and, if necessary, we’ll be able to take the initiative. We’re going to have fun and we’ll be ready”.
