Four riders of the UC Bustese Olonia, in the stage of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team U19

The last pre-season training camp of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team U19 structure, which has been held in Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort for three days, has served to strengthen ties with the historic UC Bustese Olonia, Italian formation with which the Contador Foundation has been collaborating since the 2021 season and that from this campaign will have the great support of Chiaravalli Group S.p.A.

The Lombard company, leader in the manufacture of components for industrial mechanics, increases its presence in cycling, where this season will once again be one of the official sponsors of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team, with the support of the centenary training entity from Varese. A firm and decisive commitment to the promotion of young talents in a sport so rich in values such as companionship, the capacity for sacrifice, respect and honesty.

During these days, several of its most promising members have ridden with the U19 team of the Foundation on the roads of the Comunitat Valenciana. Riccardo Archeti, Giovanni Bisconi and Filippo Turconi, second year junior cyclists, and Santiago Basso, first year, have been the four riders who have shared pedalling with Gorka Beloki’s pupils.

“It’s a very nice experience, with a very good working atmosphere, in very pleasant weather conditions on magnificent routes to work on”, says Giovanni Bisconi, words that his teammates endorse. “This experience is very important for the kids, the opportunity to experience a change of environment with kids of the same age, and it is something that will also be done in reverse, with Spanish kids travelling to Italy. It is important the attention of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team towards young and promising riders”, indicates the director Marco della Vedova.

Since the beginning of the collaboration between the Bustese Olonia and the Contador Foundation, up to five riders have made the jump from the U19 category to the U23 in the current EOLO-KOMETA subsidiary. In 2022 Edoardo Alleva, Manuel Oioli and Gabriele Raccagni did so, while in 2023 the twin brothers Tommaso and Gabriele Bessega followed in their footsteps.

“After a first year of collaboration, we are very happy to have strengthened our commitment to the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team universe by directly supporting the Bustese Olonia structure. We believe in young people and in their talent, and seeing them racing with our name on their chest fills us with pride: the values transmitted by EOLO-KOMETA and the spirit of sacrifice inherent to cycling will make them first and foremost great people, and hopefully one day they will also be great Champions, says Anna Chiaravalli on behalf of Chiaravalli Group S.p.A.

Fran Contador, manager of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team: “The presence of these four talents of the UC Bustese Olonia in the training camp of the junior team is another step in the collaboration that we have been maintaining for two seasons with this historical entity from Varese with EOLO, Kometa and from this season also Chiaravalli, a cooperation fruit of which several of their riders have made the jump to the U23 category with us and with which we want that the Spanish junior cyclists also have the opportunity to know the Italian calendar at some point”.
