Historic double commitment in Zamora after last year’s absence

18th March: 42nd Trofeo Ayuntamiento de Zamora: Zamora - Zamora ( 81.5 km)
19 de marzo: 76º Gran Premio San José: Ricobayo de Alba – Muelas del Pan ( 161,3 km)

A double competitive front on Zamora’s soil with two classic one-day races in the calendar, full of prestige and the usual destination of a large quality peloton. Gabriele Bessega, Tommaso Bessega, Haimar Etxeberria, Ramón Fernández, Antonio González, Raúl López and Pablo Uría make up the block that will face this block that the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team returns after an absence of 2022.

To begin with, shorter in terms of mileage and therefore an invitation to a lively pace, the afternoon Trofeo Ayuntamiento de Zamora. On Sunday, the jewel in the crown, the former Iberdrola Trophy. The Gran Premio San José will present some changes in its route due to some remodelling works in one of its most iconic venues: the Puente de Requejo.

Pablo Uría will make his debut in both races, a great experience for him: “At the moment I am recovering my sensations, I am training well and feeling good in the training sessions, but in the end where you have to feel good is in the races to get good results. I’ve never raced these races before, it will be a novelty. On Saturday I have seen that we have a short race, and that it will probably be very fast. The course has several steep climbs and we will have to take into account the wind, which is quite common in Castilla y León, as well as the tension that it usually brings”.

“For Sunday we have practically double the distance and from what I have seen we are facing a day with a lot of steep climbs, like the one ten kilometres from the finish. This will be a hot spot, where the group that will reach the final climb of one kilometre will most likely be selected. Either a solo rider or a very, very small group will reach the finish line, in my opinion”.
