Lots of EOLO-KOMETA in the day of the eternal Cavendish
There’s a bit of bitterness in your mouth when you don’t win. Even if in front there are the strongest sprinters, the best equipped teams, the most known names. It had to be a sprint and it was a sprint, and the winner was a sprint caliph like Mark Cavendish: but first, there was a lot of EOLO-KOMETA. With the escape of Daniel Viegas, very good protagonist of the day there in front with two other companions of adventure, able to show off and live many kilometers in the sunlight. With Mirco Maestri who tried to bring Lonardi in a good position for the final sprint, betrayed by one of those accidents that happen in the last meters of the road (a rider made a mistake in the last curve cutting off a small group). A Milan-Turin that goes in the archives like this: and we can already enjoy the spectacle of Saturday, with a Milan-San Remo that certifies even more something that we already knew. EOLO-KOMETA is there, among the great teams, in the most beautiful races.
Daniel Viegas: “A beautiful day, for me and I think also for the team. Now I have a great pain in my legs, but I thank the team for allowing me to go in the breakaway and to live this race as a protagonist”.
Mirco Maestri: “It was an intense sprint, I think we did a good job trying to bring Lonardi in a good position. Unfortunately, on the last corner a rider cut the road and we were closed: sprints are like that, you need a bit of luck and sooner or later it will be good for us too”.
