Memorial Emilio Fernández
Torre del Bierzo – Torre del Bierzo (100 km)
A group of nine riders of the junior structure will compete this Saturday in a new edition of the Memorial Emilio Fernández, a qualifying event for the spanish national ranking that will take place in Torre del Bierzo this Saturday over a 100 km course.
Joan Cadena, Joel Díaz, Pedro García, Héctor García, Lucas Guillermo, Alem Herráiz, Iván Polo, David Puente and Manuel Sanroma make up the U19 team of the Fundación Contador that travels to Castilla y León.
The race, organised by the Club Ciclista Bierzo Laciana and scoring for the national ranking since 2018, includes a small novelty in its route: the inclusion of the ascent to the Puerto del Manzanal from the town of La Granja de San Vicente.
It will be again the one of San Andrés de las Puentes, a climb that is crowned a little more than twelve kilometres from the end and that presents some dangerous section in its subsequent descent, in which the race will surely be selected a lot.
