Racing returns to Spain, to the land of Miguel Induráin

GP Miguel Induráin (1.PRO)
203'2km
1st April

Last year, the cold and snow numbed the cyclists who competed in the GP Miguel Induráin in Estella (Navarre). The roads on which the myth of the Spanish champion was forged now host a race for powerful, ambitious and courageous riders. And it is with these same values and attitude that the EOLO KOMETA faces its return to Spain.

203 kilometres of course with the first hour and a half of relatively easy racing will give the breakaway the opportunity to fight for the sprints and flying goals of the course. From kilometre 100 onwards, at the halfway point of the race, the mountain of the race will arrive. The steep climbs of Eraul, Guirguillano, Lezáun and a final climb to Eraul again which, just 10 kilometres from the finish line, is usually decisive.

It will again be a very young bunch in charge of fighting in the breakaways, against the wind and in the hard ramps of the climbs with mention to David Piganzoli, Fernando Tercero and Álex Martín, in a sweet competitive moment, accompanied in the start line by Andrea Garosio, Javier Serrano, Alessandro Fancellu and the fast David Martín who could have his options in the breakaways.

Jesús Hernández: “The GP Miguel Induráin is a particularly tough race, with hardly any flat terrain, a high level of participation and many riders who are in great form. In addition, rain is likely to play a leading role and that will complicate the day even more. Our objective is going to be to look for the breakaway and to keep the younger riders, who are showing a really great image in these last races, especially Tercero, Piganzoli and Álex Martín. We will fight for the secondary classifications and we will try to show the image of the combative team that we are”.

Álex Martín: “It’s a race I’m really looking forward to, because last year it was my first race as a professional cyclist, my debut. Besides, I am feeling very well and I want to take advantage of this opportunity. We are showing a great attitude in the races we are competing and I’m sure that in the GP Miguen Induráin we will also try to shine”.
