Beasain – Beasain (115,2 km)

Victory for the Basque rider from Zumárraga Nicolás Alustiza in an anniversary edition of the Klasika Premundial in which Samuel de Pablo from Galapagar, tenth, was the first of the riders from the Fundación Contador youth team to finish. An eventful edition for the team led by Guillermo Gutiérrez, with the withdrawal of Miguel Ramos due to an untimely fall around kilometre 41 after which he complained of intense pain in his left collarbones.

In a race with a multitude of attacks from the beginning, in a spiral of minimal differences, it was the rider from La Rioja Lucas Guillermo who gave presence to the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team in a breakaway of thirteen riders. Halfway through the race a group of ten riders in which the Cantabrian rider David Puente rode stood out in the lead and achieved an advantage of around one minute over the bunch. At the first pass through Olaberria, Puente would drop back to the lead group.
