The Tre Valli started from the Eolo headquarters rewards De Marchi
100 Tre Valli Varesine
Busto Arsizio – Varese (196,7 km)
It’s the emotions that win in days like this. The emotions that only cycling can give, even when you don’t win and even when the race doesn’t go as you had dreamed. The emotions that came from the start, the whole world of cycling in front of the house of our main sponsor Eolo, with our uniforms that were beautiful among all the others. The emotions came from the fatigue, which in cycling there is always but in days like this there is even more: because the rain and the cold make the legs even harder, the climbs more difficult, the asphalt more dangerous.
It was run the Tre Valli Varesine, a race that we have in the heart because it lives in a territory that is dear to us: and at the end De Marchi won, beating Formolo in the sprint. Behind them a phenomenon called Pogacar, who if he hadn’t been hit by a bit of bad luck would have surely said his piece until the end. Our colors were well defended by Erik Fetter, who was very good at starting the breakaway after a couple of km and resisting until his legs held out. Bravo also our Fortunato and Albanese, arrived with the group of those who have resisted the rain that has not spared the group not even for a meter. The races in Italy continue: tomorrow, the menu includes the spectacular Milan-Turin. We are there.
Erik Fetter: “Today was a very hard day, but I’m happy because I showed myself. I attacked right away, and to start the breakaway we had to push hard because the group was close to us. Then a nice little group formed, we found an agreement and went well for a few kilometers. At a certain point Zanatta told me on the radio that a strong rider was joining our group and…after a while I saw Pogacar overtaking me. He immediately increased the pace, and I ran out of gas and pulled away: I couldn’t take it anymore, but I gave everything I had”.
