Very close to his twin brother Gabriele, protagonist of this space a few weeks ago, Tommaso Bessega (18 February 2004) has shared with him both a football past and early cycling adventures, although in some cases with a different role. On the bike, we are in front of a fast cyclist, a road cyclist and a good time trialist.
Both the UC San Macario and the Unione Ciclistica Bustese Olonia have been his previous stops in a cycling world to which he also arrived late and also the Vanzaghello was his calcio club in his football days, although in his case playing in the position of defender. “We have always done the same sporting activities and we have always done them together,” he says.
“What I like most about this sport is the competition and the speed,” says Tommaso, who, when asked which is his favourite race, goes to Belgian latitudes with his answer: “I like the Tour of Flanders. It’s a race that I like for its route, with all those short but hard climbs, for its mileage…”.
“My favourite rider is Wout Van Aert. He’s a very versatile rider, powerful, with top speed that he displays in sprints and with great strength and a great rolling ability that makes him go very fast in the time trials”, he adds.
