Vincenzo Albanese, Lorenzo Fortunato and Francesco Gavazzi, triple ‘blue’ representation in Dubai

Italian riders Vincenzo Albanese, Lorenzo Fortunato and Francesco Gavazzi will represent the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team this Saturday in the first edition of the Giro d’Italia Criterium, which takes place in the streets of Dubai.

This innovative event is promoted by RCS Sport with the support of MadeinItaly.gov.it, and the Dubai Sports Council in the framework of the Expo 2020 Dubai UAE, which takes place from October 1 to March 31. The event will be held on a 2.1 kilometre circuit to which participants will complete 30 laps.

For this first edition the organization has confirmed the presence of the current winner of the corsa Rosa, the Colombian Egan Bernal, and other outstanding riders of the world peloton, as the Slovak Peter Sagan, the Italians Elia Viviani and Filippo Ganna or the triple representation of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team.

Albanese, Fortunato and Gavazzi were three of the protagonists of the last edition of the Giro d’Italia. At the front, thanks to his unforgettable victory on Monte Zoncolan, Lorenzo Fortunato. But both Albanese, very active in the breakaways in the early days and leader of the mountains for several days, and Gavazzi, second in the stage with the Guardia Sanframondi finish, also put in a great performance.
