The roads of Alt Ampordà, Garrotxa and Ripollès receive between Saturday and Monday, a public holiday, the youth structure of the Contador Foundation in the framework of the three trophies that make up the Volta a Girona for both cadets and juniors. Agullana, Sant Jaume de Llierca and Ripoll make up this competitive triptych with three one-day races where there is a lot of importance for the circuits and, as a last-minute novelty due to issues related to transit permits, a very hard time trial climb to Valter 2000 is proposed.

On the first day, in the Agullana race, a very demanding route due to the orographic difficulty, the so-called Mortirolo, which has to be managed. On Sunday, in the Memorial Toni Fité in Sant Jaume de Llierca, Catalan Championship of the category, the cyclists will have to manage up to six times a fourteen-kilometre route that includes the ascent to Tortellá and that promises to be a great exercise of wear and tear. The forecast for Monday, a Gran Premi Vila de Ripoll on another circuit of greater mileage that included two ascents to the Coll de Santigosa, with its 6.5 kilometres at just over 4% on average, and the final part, some three kilometres above 5% on average, of the Coll de Canes, has been modified: the cyclists have before them a 14-kilometre time trial on a climb as steep as Vallter 2000, with an average gradient of over 7%, ramps of up to 14% and a finish at an altitude of over 2,000 metres above sea level.

The local rider of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team will not be able to take part in the race due to his recent fall during the Trofeu 15 d’abril de La Canonja. Gerard Cano, from Campdevánol, is recovering from a deep wound that required several stitches and will be for several days away from the bike for his correct recovery. Gorka Beloki has called Sergio Calvo, Miguel Domínguez, Hector García, Mario Gómez, Balazs Pollner, Iván Polo and Manuel Sanroma for these races.
