It was again Maikel Zijlard, winner of yesterday’s stage, who triumphed in a sprint ahead of our Vincenzo Albanese in a challenging stage with a breakaway that was caught just a few kilometers from the finish.

Biagio Conte: “The team worked very well again today, we tried to be present in the breakaway but it was difficult to take it away. Albanese won the first intermediate sprint then there were continuous sprints and the breakaway went away after 80 km, it seemed it would have been easy to catch them but unfortunately collaborating in the group is not easy and in the end we had to think about it to put Albanese in a position to sprint. Alba is still in third position in the overall, we still have tomorrow’s stage and we will try to take advantage of his good condition.”
