The GP Industria & Artigianato will celebrate its 45th edition this Sunday with the essence of a course for fast riders and the opportunity to show off for the powerful and offensive riders who want to break the race on one of the four climbs to Fomello.
A total of 200 kilometres of route divided into two circuits: the first of 14 kilometres with six laps, with an up and down that will make the breakaway ride with the possibility of gain time from the bunch, while from kilometre 100 the four laps of the second circuit of 29 kilometres will start, more demanding with the ascent of Fomello and the last pass through this point just 13 kilometres from the finish in Larciano.
Having presented the route, without having yet finished the Coppi e Bartali competition, it will be a very similar block that will face the competition of the GP Industria & Artigianato. The youngsters take the lead, with the presence of Alessandro Fancellu, Andrea Garosio, Alex Martin, Davide Piganzoli, Simone Raccani and Andrea Pietrobon. He won’t have as clear a chance to show off his climbing prowess, but Fernando Tercero is also part of a line-up that is really full of developing riders looking for their chance. They have the ideal race to shine.
Biagio Conte: “The race is at 1.PRO level, so there are a lot of UCI points at the finish and the strong teams will fight at the highest level. It’s a difficult day to predict, the team is showing attitude and a way of racing that fills us with hope. They are showing what they can do and what they are capable of. The Coppi e Bartali riders are essentially the ones who are going to compete, and with their form they can be with the best riders in that last circuit, which is a bit more demanding. We have to be mentally prepared to do well and I think the riders are motivated to do that”.
