Victorias de Diego Pablo Sevilla y Iosu Angoitia

Diego Pablo Sevilla inauguró hoy su palmarés de 2013 al lograr la victoria en el Memorial Hernández Úbeda (80 km), celebrado en Ávila, mientras que en Amorebieta hizo lo propio Iosu Angoitia, que corría en esta ocasión sin compañeros de equipo.

Diego Sevilla logró el triunfo en solitario, al dejar a sus cinco compañeros de fuga en el último kilómetro de la carrera, ya en las calles de Ávila, y cruzar la meta con 4 segundos de ventaja sobre el siguiente clasificado.

Sevilla, que le dio a su equipo la décima victoria del año, edificó su triunfo al meterse en una escapada de seis corredores que se hizo en el segundo de los puertos que se subieron, Alancha, a unos 50 kilómetros de meta, hasta donde se habían sucedido las escaramuzas.

José Luis de Santos alineó en Ávila a siete corredores: el mencionado Sevilla más Fran Pérez, Sergio Fernández, Juanjo Pazos, Óscar Linares, Víctor Aguado y Miguel Ángel Alcaide. Estos dos últimos sufrieron una caída en el kilómetro 5 que obligó a Alcaide, ganador el pasado fin de semana en Madrid, a retirarse, aunque el golpe no tuvo consecuencias graves.

Por su parte, Iosu Angoitia corrió este fin de semana en solitario, ya que el resto de sus compañeros estaban en otros frentes. Ayer sábado logró la tercera plaza del podio en Durango y hoy confirmó su gran momento de forma en Montecalvo, arrancando en esa subida y llegando solo a la meta de Amorebieta, sobre el mismo circuito que hacen los profesionales en la Klásica de Primavera. Angoitia sumó así la undécima victoria del Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador.

También el sábado, el Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador corrió en Navas de Oro (Segovia), donde Fran Pérez terminó cuarto, Sevilla ganó la montaña y Aguado las metas volantes. Finalmente, hay que reseñar la mala suerte de Enric Mas y Cristian Torres en Sax (Alicante), donde ambos se cayeron en la última curva cuando el primero lanzaba el sprint de su compañero.

First wins of the year for Diego Pablo Sevilla and Iosu Angoitia

Diego Sevilla today inaugurated his palmares of 2013 winning in the Memorial Hernández Úbeda (80 km), held in Avila, while in Amorebieta did the same Iosu Angoitia running this time without teammates.

Diego Sevilla triumphed alone, leaving his five breakaway companions in the final kilometer of the race, already in the streets of Avila, and cross the finish line four seconds ahead of the following rider.

Sevilla, which gave to his team the tenth win of the year, built his success on a breakaway of six riders which was made in the second climb of the day, Alancha, about 50 kilometers to go, as far as skirmishes had occurred.

Jose Luis de Santos ranked in Avila seven riders: the above mentioned Sevilla plus Fran Perez, Sergio Fernandez, Juanjo Pazos, Oscar Linares, Victor Aguado and Miguel Angel Alcaide. These last two suffered a fall in the km 5 of the race, forcing Alcaide, winner last weekend in Madrid, to retire, but the blow was not serious.

Meanwhile, Iosu Angoitia ran this weekend alone, because the rest of his teammates were on other fronts. On Saturday he won the third place in Durango and today confirmed his great shape in Montecalvo, attacking in that climb and reaching alone the goal of Amorebieta, on the same circuit as the pros do in the Spring Klásica. Angoitia added as well the eleventh victory of the Specialized-Alberto Contador Fundation Team.

Also on Saturday, the Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador raced in Navas de Oro (Segovia), where Fran Pérez finished fourth, Sevilla won the mountain and Aguado the sprints. Finally, we must mention the bad luck of Enric Mas and Cristian Torres in Sax (Alicante), where they both fell into the last corner when the first one launched the sprint of his companion.
